THE VAGINA BLOG PODCAST EPISODE 22: Pelvic Floors and Menstrual Products with Dr Alyssa Dweck

Alyssa Dweck is an OB/GYN practicing in New York. She is speaking to me today on behalf of Intimina and their products. Her practice focuses on menopausal health, sexual health and general gynecology and surgery. Her books include The Complete A to Z for your V, V is for Vagina, and The Sexual Spark.

Tell us about how to take good care of our pelvic floor – with aging, after childbirth, etc.

Our pelvic floor is internal muscles that can weaken with age, genetics, and trauma. Risk factors for a weakened pelvic floor include being overweight, being pregnant, traumatic delivery, and age. There are exercises that can help heal and strengthen your pelvic floor that include core exercises and kegel exercises. Intimina has several products that help with kegel exercises. Minimizing caffeine intake and keeping weight under control can greatly help your pelvic floor.
